About Davis Whitfield - Sculpture in Maine

Born and raised in the Mississippi Delta, Davis Whitfield found a love of art from birth. For over 20 years, Davis has been privileged enough to create large outdoor sculpture and intimate pedestal pieces for a range of clients including corporations, municipalities, private collectors and public outdoor spaces. He enjoys working in stainless steel, weathering steel and painted steel as well as traditional stone carving. His work is inspired by the interplay of technology and nature and he excels in bringing out gracious curves and graceful bends in the toughest of materials that can withstand the test of time.

Whitfield graduated in 2002 with a double major in painting and sculpture from Delta State University. After graduation he headed to the mountains of North Carolina where he was privileged to apprentice to renowned sculptor and painter Wayne Trapp. Davis currently resides in Bangor, Maine with his wife and three children and his work can be seen throughout the country.
